Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around a bolt-on, 25.5-inch platform, the LTD TH-400 combines a mahogany body and three-piece roasted maple neck with an active EMG 81/85 pickup set. The bridge pickup brings sharp attack and tight lows for high-gain rhythm parts, while the neck pickup offers a warmer, smoother lead voice. A string-through fixed bridge, locking tuners, and 24 extra-jumbo frets keep the layout focused for rehearsals, recording, and live sets.
Strong match
Who this is for
- High-gain rhythm parts that need tight low end and defined pick attack.
- Lead passages using the warmer, smoother response of the neck-position EMG 85.
- Players working in standard or lowered tunings on a 25.5-inch scale guitar.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who require a tremolo system; the TH-400 uses a fixed hardtail bridge.
