Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The Translucent Oxblood StingRay Special 5 HH is a right-handed five-string bass with two neodymium humbuckers, five-way pickup selection, and an 18-volt active three-band EQ. Its onboard layout gives separate volume, bass, mid, and treble control while you play. The body is lightweight and contoured, paired with a roasted maple neck and 22-fret fingerboard. Custom lightweight tuners and a Music Man-designed hardened steel bridge complete the hardware, and a hardshell case is included.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Studio or rehearsal work that calls for five-string range, selectable humbuckers, and onboard EQ adjustment.
- Players who want separate volume, bass, mid, and treble controls on a right-handed bass.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking a four-string bass; this is a five-string model.
- Left-handed players; the instrument is right handed.
