48 square feet total. In practice that's your two side-wall reflection points, a spot behind the speakers, and part of the rear wall.
02Will this stop my neighbors from hearing me?
No. Foam treats reflections inside the room. Blocking sound transmission requires mass and sealed construction, which is a different job entirely.
03Do I need adhesive, and how much?
Yes, sold separately. Auralex specifies one can of FoamTak spray or two tubes of Tubetak per 12-panel box.
04Is 2 inch thick enough, or should I get 3 inch?
2" handles mids and highs, which covers most flutter echo and harshness. If low-end buildup is your main complaint, add corner bass traps rather than thicker wall foam.
