An 18-inch drum is naturally higher pitched than a 22. This head tightens it further into a focused thud. Great for punch, less so for deep sub-heavy tone.
02Does the black finish change the sound?
No meaningful difference on a kick batter. Treat it as a look choice, especially since the beater side is hidden from the audience.
03Can I use this on an 18-inch floor tom?
It's built as a bass drum batter with heavy muffling. On a floor tom it will sound very choked and lose sustain. Use a tom head instead.
04What's the difference between Super Kick II and III?
Both are muffled bass drum batters. The III is the drier of the two, with more damping and shorter sustain. Pick II if you want a little more tone left in.
