Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built for players who need a full 24.75-inch scale in a smaller travel format, the Pro-Series Mod-X measures 28 inches overall and uses body-mounted tuners instead of a headstock. Its passive controls combine a coil-splittable dual-rail humbucker with an under-saddle piezo: select either pickup or blend them from the guitar. The removable lap rest and upper-arm support are there for playing comfort, then detach for transport. It comes with a gig bag sized for airline overhead compartments.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Traveling guitarists who want electric and piezo pickup options without giving up a 24.75-inch scale length.
- Changing between humbucker, coil-split, piezo, or blended pickup sounds from one passive control layout.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need a built-in headphone amplifier or instrument input.
- Players looking for a guitar with a headstock.
