Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around a compact Grand Concert body, the Sunset Blvd 312e-N pairs nylon strings with a solid Western Red cedar top and solid sapele back and sides. Its cedar-and-sapele voice is described as warm, balanced and responsive to a light touch, while the Taylor Claria system gives you onboard Volume, Mid-Contour and Tone control when plugging in. The 1.875-inch nut width, satin neo-tropical mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard give fingerstyle work room without an oversized classical-guitar feel. A hardshell case is included.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Fingerstyle arrangements that benefit from a responsive nylon-string guitar with a compact Grand Concert body.
- Plugged-in nylon-string performance requiring onboard volume, tone and Mid-Contour adjustment.
- Steel-string players exploring nylon strings who want Taylor's slender neck feel.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking a steel-string guitar; this is a six-string nylon model.
- Left-handed players; the guitar is right handed.
