TAMAStarclassic Walnut/Birch 3-Piece Shell Pack With 22" Bass Drum - Vintage Champagne Sparkle

When a drum set needs both a deep, resonant foundation and the definition to cut through a mix, shell construction makes all the difference. The TAMA Starclassic Walnut/Birch 3-piece shell pack pairs birch with inner plies of black walnut, combining the solid attack of birch with the warmth and mid-to-low-frequency character of walnut. This streamlined configuration centers on a shallow 22x14" undrilled bass drum, joined by a 12x8" rack tom and 16x16" floor tom for a focused spread of voices across the kit. Die-cast hoops, the Star-Cast Mounting System and Starclassic lugs round out a thoughtfully engineered acoustic drum setup built for drummers who value tonal depth, articulation and a compact three-piece configuration. Walnut and Birch Shells Balance Warmth and Attack The hybrid shell recipe gives the Starclassic its distinctive tonal foundation. TAMA combines birch outer plies with black walnut inner plies, using 6 mm shells on the toms and an 8 mm shell on the bass drum. Birch contributes a defined, solid attack, while walnut brings added warmth and mid-to-low-frequency presence. Together, those characteristics give drummers a combination of clarity and body that can translate across a wide range of playing situations. An interior lacquer treatment completes the shells, complementing a construction designed to balance resonance with the focused response expected from the Starclassic series. Starclassic Hardware Supports Resonance and Flexible Setup TAMA complements the hybrid shells with hardware designed for consistent performance. The Star-Cast Mounting System supports the 12x8" rack tom while allowing the shell to resonate freely, and die-cast hoops provide a solid foundation for tuning and rimshots. Starclassic lugs complete the drum hardware, while Evans drum heads provide the playing surfaces across the shell pack. The included MC69 single tom attachment provides a mounting solution for the rack tom, while the undrilled 22x14" bass drum maintains a clean shell design without an integrated tom mount. A Streamlined Starclassic Configuration for Working Drummers With a rack tom, floor tom and shallow 22" bass drum, this three-piece configuration provides a focused acoustic foundation that can be expanded with the snare, cymbals and additional hardware of the drummer's choice. Its walnut/birch shells emphasize warmth, low-end body and defined attack, while TAMA's mounting and hardware systems support the consistency needed for rehearsals, recording and live performance. For drummers seeking a streamlined acoustic setup with hybrid-shell character and proven Starclassic appointments, the TAMA Starclassic Walnut/Birch 3-piece shell pack brings those elements together in a cohesive kit.
