Sterling by Music ManSUB Series StingRay RAY4 HH Electric Bass Guitar - Toluca Lake Blue

The Sterling by Music Man SUB Series StingRay RAY4 HH electric bass blends classic StingRay character with the expanded versatility of a dual-humbucker design. Outfitted with two ceramic pickups, a dedicated 9V active preamp and a five-way selector, this model delivers a wide palette of punchy, articulate tones suited for rehearsal, recording or the stage. A slim 1.5" nut width and hard maple neck create a fast, comfortable feel, while open-gear tuners and a fixed bridge ensure stable tuning and solid sustain. For players who want the familiar StingRay feel combined with flexible pickup switching and expressive output, the RAY4 HH offers a reliable, performance-ready platform. Dual Ceramic Humbuckers Expand Tonal Range Two ceramic humbuckers form the core of the RAY4 HH’s voice, each engineered for clarity, high output and noise rejection. Their placement gives the instrument strong low-end presence, defined mids and the punch needed to cut through dense mixes. Whether laying down rhythmic foundations or exploring melodic lines, the humbuckers maintain consistent articulation and presence across dynamic shifts. Active 9V Preamp Shapes Output and Response An onboard 9V active preamp boosts signal strength and enhances overall definition, working in tandem with the ceramic pickups to deliver sharper attack and longer sustain. The two-band EQ provides direct control over bass and treble, making it easy to add weight, brighten the top end or fine-tune your sound for different environments. This active system gives the StingRay HH model ample headroom and lets players balance deep lows and crisp highs with confidence. Five-Way Selector Offers On-the-Fly Pickup Switching The five-way selector enables rapid tonal changes, blending the dual humbuckers in configurations that range from full, powerful dual-coil output to tighter, more focused single-coil-style tones. Positioned for quick access, the switch allows players to shift character mid-song without interrupting their groove. The result is a bass that adapts easily to different playing approaches, musical styles or performance settings. Solid Construction Supports Long-Term Playability A bayur body and hard maple neck provide a stable, resonant foundation, while the jatoba fingerboard with white-dot markers offers smooth playability and clear visibility. The six-bolt neck joint enhances structural integrity and sustain, and open-gear tuners maintain reliable tuning accuracy. Paired with a fixed bridge that improves string vibration transfer and intonation, the RAY4 HH is built to withstand travel, heavy practice schedules and regular gigging. Level Up Your Tone With the StingRay RAY4 HH Players who value hands-on tone shaping and the unmistakable StingRay feel will appreciate the RAY4 HH’s responsive electronics and comfortable build. Its switching system, active preamp and ceramic humbuckers provide the punch, clarity and versatility needed for tight grooves, expressive phrasing and dependable low-end presence.
