SquierParanormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ - Maple Fingerboard, Vintage White

Blending vintage-inspired Fender DNA with an imaginative new design, the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ delivers a unique combination of classic bass tones, semi-hollow resonance and lightweight comfort. Built with a thinline nyatoh body, a 34"-scale maple neck and an unconventional Fender-designed dual-single-coil SJ pickup configuration, this bass offers everything from deep Precision Bass-style thump to articulate Jazz Bass-inspired growl. The semi-hollow construction enhances acoustic resonance while reducing overall weight, making the Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ an inspiring choice for players seeking distinctive tone and feel in a versatile instrument. Semi-Hollow Thinline Body Adds Resonance and Playing Comfort The standout feature of the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ is its semi-hollow thinline body construction. Crafted from nyatoh, the body delivers balanced tonal characteristics while the chambered design adds natural resonance and a more open acoustic response. The reduced weight makes the instrument especially comfortable for long rehearsals, recording sessions and live performances. This unique design gives players a different playing experience than traditional solidbody basses while retaining familiar Fender-inspired ergonomics. Unique SJ Pickup Configuration for P Bass Punch and Jazz Bass Growl The Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ features a distinctive pickup pairing that combines a Fender-designed alnico '51 Precision Bass-style single-coil pickup with a Fender-designed alnico Jazz Bass-style single-coil pickup. This combination creates a remarkably broad tonal palette that spans warm vintage thump, focused midrange punch and articulate bridge-position growl. A three-way blade switch allows players to quickly select individual pickups or blend their characteristics through the middle position. The result is a bass capable of adapting to a wide variety of musical styles and performance situations. Maple Neck and Fingerboard Deliver Smooth Playability A comfortable C-shaped maple neck provides a familiar feel that suits a wide range of playing techniques. The maple fingerboard adds snap and articulation to the instrument’s overall voice while offering a smooth playing surface across all 20 narrow-tall frets. The satin urethane neck finish enhances comfort by reducing friction during position changes and extended performances. Combined with the traditional 34" scale length, the neck design provides excellent balance, playability and note definition. Vintage-Style Hardware Ensures Reliable Performance The Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ is equipped with a four-saddle vintage-style bridge featuring slotted barrel saddles for dependable intonation and sustain. Vintage-style open-gear tuning machines provide smooth operation and reliable tuning stability while reinforcing the instrument’s classic aesthetic. Chrome hardware and a parchment pickguard complement the bass’s retro-inspired design. Together, these appointments deliver dependable performance without sacrificing visual character. A Bold Reimagining of the Classic P Bass Platform The Paranormal Series is known for combining familiar Fender elements in unexpected ways, and this bass exemplifies that approach. By pairing semi-hollow construction with an unusual SJ pickup configuration, it offers tones and playing characteristics not typically found in traditional Precision or Jazz Bass designs. The result is an instrument that feels both familiar and refreshingly different. For players seeking lightweight comfort, expanded tonal versatility and distinctive style, the Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ delivers a compelling new take on classic Fender bass performance.
