  • Swapping out a weak or muddy stock bridge pickup
  • Humbucker-routed guitars with an existing bridge cavity
  • Builds where a visible pink pickup is the point

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Players who won't solder or pay a tech
  • Guitars routed only for single-coils without modification
  • Anyone wanting a neutral look — the pink shows

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

Bridge position

Wound for the bridge, where string movement is smallest. Putting it in the neck slot gives a thick, unbalanced result.

Detail 02

Humbucker

Two coils wired to cancel hum. Quieter near amps, screens and lighting than a single-coil.

Detail 03

Pink

Cosmetic only. It stays visible unless you hide it under a pickguard or a cover.

Detail 04

Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB

A long-running standard part number, so mounting hardware and wiring info are easy to find.

Detail 05

$99

Mid-range for a name-brand pickup. The install is often the larger part of the total cost.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01You need a soldering iron, or budget for a tech to fit it
  2. 02Measure your bridge route — humbucker-sized cavity and mounting holes
  3. 03Pickup only. No guitar, pots, switch or output jack

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Will this fit my Strat?

Only if the bridge position is routed for a humbucker, or you have a humbucker-cut pickguard. A standard single-coil route needs enlarging first.

02Do I have to solder it in?

Yes. The pickup leads have to be joined to your volume pot, switch and ground. A tech can do it in under an hour.

03Can I put it in the neck position?

Physically yes if the route fits. It is wound for the bridge, so at the neck it will sound thicker and louder than the rest of the guitar.

04Is the pink just the coils or the whole pickup?

The pink is the finish you see once installed. If you want it hidden, mount it under a cover or pickguard.
