Strong match

Who this is for

  • Replacing a muddy stock Tele neck pickup with clearer vintage voicing
  • Blues and country players who use the neck and middle positions
  • Restoring a Tele build toward period-correct '50s tone

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Bridge position — this is wound and sized for the neck
  • High-gain players wanting output and hum rejection
  • Anyone needing a drop-in for a humbucker-routed neck cavity

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

Neck position only

Neck and bridge Tele pickups differ in size, output and mounting. This one will not fit a bridge plate.

Detail 02

Single-coil

Open, bright and dynamic, but it hums under fluorescent lights and near screens. That noise is inherent, not a fault.

Detail 03

Telecaster format

The chrome-covered neck pickup shape is Tele-specific. Strat and other single-coil routes will not accept it.

Detail 04

1955 voicing

Tuned toward lower output than a modern replacement, so it stays clean longer and cleans up with the volume knob.

Detail 05

Sold as a single pickup

You get the neck only. Pairing it with a matched bridge pickup is a separate purchase.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01No bridge pickup included — this is one pickup, not a set
  2. 02Requires soldering to the control plate, or a tech to do it
  3. 03Confirm your neck route and pickguard opening match the standard Tele shape

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Does this come with the bridge pickup?

No. This is the neck pickup alone. The matching bridge pickup is sold separately.

02Will it fit my Squier or Fender Telecaster?

It fits standard Telecaster neck routes and control plates. Measure your existing pickup and cavity first if your guitar is a non-standard or offset build.

03Will it hum?

Yes. It is a single-coil, so it picks up electrical interference like any other. Rotating the guitar away from the source reduces it.

04Can I install it myself?

If you can solder two wires and are comfortable pulling the control plate, yes. Otherwise a tech can do it quickly.
