Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around a 35-inch scale and five strings, the SLS Elite-5 gives players an extended-range bass with 24 extra-jumbo stainless-steel frets and a neck-through build. Its active Fishman Fluence electronics provide several ways to shape the signal: blend the two soapbar pickups, use the 2-band EQ, select alternate voicings, or engage single-coil switching from the volume control. The ultra-thin neck and heel carve are designed to keep the full fingerboard accessible.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Five-string bass parts that call for alternate pickup voices and onboard EQ adjustments.
- Players moving across all 24 frets who want access supported by the heel carve.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Buyers who need a case included with the bass; it is sold separately.
