Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The right-handed Reaper-4 is a four-string electric bass with a swamp ash and figured poplar burl body, plus an ebony fingerboard on a reinforced maple neck. Its P-40 neck pickup and M-40 bridge pickup are controlled by master volume and blend, giving you a direct way to combine their respective voices. The onboard 18V Darkglass Tone Capsule EQ adds bass, mid, and upper-mid contour control, making it practical to revise the bass balance from one song to the next.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Fingerstyle basslines using the P-40 neck pickup's warmer low end and singing highs.
- Aggressive parts that benefit from the M-40 bridge pickup's focused lows and cutting mids.
- Sets where bass, mid, and upper-mid contour need adjustment at the instrument.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Left-handed players; this version is identified as right handed.
