No. Eb reeds are smaller and will not seal correctly on a Bb mouthpiece. Strength numbers also do not translate directly between the two.
02Should I play the same strength on Eb as on Bb?
Not necessarily. Many players go slightly softer on Eb because the smaller mouthpiece already adds resistance. Try 3 and 3.5 and compare.
03How do I stop Eb from playing sharp?
A firmer reed plus relaxed embouchure and more air helps. Pushing with the jaw on a soft reed is what drives the pitch up.
