No. Strength 2 is a common starting point. It takes less air and less embouchure pressure, which makes the first months of tone production easier.
02Will these fit my alto clarinet?
No. These are cut for Bb soprano clarinet. Alto and bass clarinet take larger reeds with different dimensions.
03How long does one reed last?
With daily practice, roughly two to four weeks. You'll hear it go dull and stuffy before it fails outright.
04Do I need to soak them first?
Wet the reed in your mouth for about a minute before playing. A dry reed plays stiff and can crack at the tip.
