01Will these fit a Bb clarinet?
No. These are cut for bass clarinet, which uses a noticeably larger reed. A soprano Bb clarinet mouthpiece needs Bb clarinet reeds.
02Is 1.5 too soft for a beginner?
1.5 is on the soft end even for beginners. It makes the first notes easier, but many students move to 2 or 2.5 within a few months.
03How long does a reed last?
With regular playing, a few weeks per reed. Rotating between several from the box extends the life of all of them.
04Do I need to break these in?
Yes. Play each new reed for a few minutes at a time over several days rather than a full rehearsal on day one.
