01What does B-5 mean on a Graftonite?
B is the chamber, the medium of three. 5 is the tip opening, mid-range for the line. Larger numbers open the tip and take more air.
02What reed strength should I start with?
Baritone reeds in the 2 to 2.5 range suit a 5 tip for most players. Go harder only if the sound thins out or the reed closes up at volume.
03Will this fit a tenor sax?
No. The shank and bore are cut for baritone necks. A tenor needs a tenor mouthpiece.
04Is plastic worse than hard rubber?
It is less refined and less adjustable, but far tougher and much cheaper. For school use and backups that trade usually makes sense.
