01Front head or batter?
Either. Most use it on the front for resonance. As a batter it gives an open, jazzy kick, but add a beater patch.
02How do I make it less boomy?
Put a pillow or folded towel against the inside of the head, or add an external dampening ring. Lower, looser tuning also shortens the ring.
03Does it have a mic hole?
No. It's a solid head. You can cut a port with a hole cutter, but that change is permanent.
04Will it fit a 22x18 bass drum?
Yes. Only the 22-inch diameter matters for fit; shell depth makes no difference.
