It works on either side of a 20-inch bass drum. On the batter side expect open sustain; on the front it adds resonance and gives you a surface for a logo.
02Will this fit my 22-inch kick?
No. Drum heads are sized to the shell diameter. This one fits 20-inch bass drums only.
03How do I get a shorter, punchier sound from it?
Add muffling — a pillow or blanket touching the head, or an external ring. Single-ply heads are open by nature, so damping has to come from you.
04Does it come with a muffling ring?
No. It's a bare head with no built-in dampening. If you want control without adding anything, look at a pre-muffled model instead.
