The Powerstroke 3 with a dampening ring is built as a batter head. On a two-sided concert bass drum, many players run matching heads on both sides.
02Do I still need muffling inside the drum?
Usually not. The underside dampening ring already controls overtones. Add a pillow only if you want a very dead, short note.
03Will this fit my drum kit's kick?
Only if your kick is 28 inches. Most kits use 20", 22", or 24". Check the shell size first.
