01Will this fit my 13-inch drum set snare?
It will physically fit, but it is built for marching tension. On a kit snare at normal tension it sounds tight and dry with little sustain.
02Is this the top or bottom head?
Top. It is the batter head you play on. The snare-side head underneath is a separate thin head you buy on its own.
03Why does it cost more than a regular 13-inch head?
The Kevlar weave construction is what lets it hold up at marching tension. Standard mylar heads dent or break at those levels.
04Do I need special tools to change it?
A drum key, and that is it. Tune in a star pattern, going around gradually rather than tightening one rod all the way.
