01Do I need to remove the bottom head too?
No. This is a batter head for the top of the tom. Leave the resonant head in place unless it's damaged.
02Will this work on a snare?
It can serve as a snare batter, but it's built as a tom head. On snare it will sound dry and short with reduced sensitivity at low volumes.
03Does the dot wear off?
The dot is on the underside, so sticks never touch it. The coating on top wears with play; the dot stays intact.
04Will I still need moongel or tape?
Usually not. The dot already shortens decay. Adding muffling on top tends to choke the tom.
