Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
PRS built the Archon 50 around two distinct channels: a clean side with clarity at higher volumes and a lead side voiced from classic rock through metal. Five gain stages sit before the master volume, and each channel has its own volume, treble, middle, bass, master, and bright switch. That layout gives players detailed control over distortion level, loudness, and EQ while keeping clean and overdriven sounds available from the same 50W tube head.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Players moving between clear high-volume cleans and full distortion within one two-channel amp head.
- Classic-rock through metal parts requiring detailed gain, EQ, bright, volume, and master adjustments.
