  • Swapping out corroded or scratched original covers
  • Matching a bridge and neck pickup as a pair

  • Players who want to see the coils and bobbin color
  • Anyone without a soldering iron or a tech to do it

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

2-pack

Covers both neck and bridge in one buy, so the finish matches. Buying singles later risks a chrome mismatch.

Detail 02

Chrome finish

Bright and mirror-like. Ages by pitting rather than dulling, and shows fingerprints more than nickel or gold.

Detail 03

Humbucker size

Fits full-size humbucker bobbins only. Pole spacing still has to match your bridge — standard and wide-spaced differ.

Detail 04

Metal cover over open coils

Adds slight high-end roll-off and can pick up hum shielding differences. Most players hear it as a small softening on top.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Pickups must come out and be desoldered to fit a cover
  2. 02Covers left unsealed can squeal — many techs solder or wax-pot them
  3. 03No solder, wax, or mounting screws included

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Will these fit my pickups?

They fit full-size humbuckers. Check your pole-piece spacing first — standard-spaced and wide-spaced bridge pickups measure differently and a mismatched cover will not seat.

02Do covers change the tone?

Slightly. A metal cover trims a little top end. It is audible back to back but small next to a pickup or amp change.

03Can I install these myself?

Only if you solder. The pickup has to be removed, the cover fitted, and the seam soldered so it does not vibrate and squeal at volume.

04Why do covered pickups squeal?

A loose cover vibrates against the coils under high gain and turns microphonic. Soldering the seam or wax-potting the assembly stops it.
