Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Orange’s UK-built OR60 is a 60W all-valve head that keeps the signal path focused around one channel and a pair of 6L6 power tubes. Its primary and footswitchable secondary volume controls let you change level without changing the core sound, a useful arrangement for rhythm-to-lead moves onstage. Bright, Presence, and Resonance controls shape attack, high end, and low-end punch at the power-amp stage. Choose full or half power as the venue demands, and place time-based effects through the valve-buffered loop.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Stage sets requiring a footswitchable level lift between rhythm and lead sections.
- Pedal-based rigs that use the OR60 as a clean platform or push it into natural breakup.
- Players who want full- or half-power operation while retaining the amp’s stated feel and definition.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need separate clean and drive channels; the OR60 uses a single-channel layout.
