Independent shopping perspective
MXR’s Duke of Tone gives a guitar rig three gain paths from one pedal: clean Boost, OD, and Distortion. Volume, Drive, and Tone controls let you move from a level lift through breakup and into saturated distortion, while the three-position switch selects the operating mode. Developed with Analog Man, the circuit uses JFETs in a design based on vintage tube overdrive. It is housed in cast aluminum with top-mounted jacks and buffered bypass for use when the effect is off.
