Ribbons output far less signal. You will run the preamp much higher, which is why a clean, high-gain preamp matters more than with a condenser.
03Can I use it on guitar amps?
Yes, that is a natural fit. The softer top end takes the edge off a bright cab, and the figure-8 pattern lets you aim the null at bleed.
04Can I use it live?
It is better kept in the studio. Ribbons are delicate, and stage handling, drops and moving air are the main ways they get damaged.
