Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
This HCS Expanded set brings together the core cymbal voices of a drum setup: 14-inch hi-hats, 16- and 18-inch crashes, and a 20-inch ride. The pieces are matched to work together as a kit, with the second crash expanding the setup beyond a single-crash arrangement. Brass construction, full lathing, and machine hammering accompany the line’s clean, bright, defined character. Made in Germany, it gives a student or beginning drummer a coordinated set of cymbal options.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Students and beginning drummers assembling the main cymbal voices for a complete drum setup.
- Drum kits that need two crash sizes alongside hi-hats and a 20-inch ride.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Setups limited to a single crash cymbal rather than the included 16- and 18-inch crashes.
