Premium Tonewoods for Balanced Tone The Engelmann spruce top and Guatemalan rosewood back and sides provide a balanced tone with articulate highs, warm midrange and tight low end. These tonewoods are prized for their musicality and have been used on high-end Martins for decades. The scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing allows the top to vibrate freely, producing notes that bloom with harmonic richness and sustain. When playing, you'll appreciate the OM-45 John Mayer Platinum's dynamic range and sensitivity. A Comfortable Neck for Expressive Playing The mahogany neck has a modified V-shape and 1-11/16" nut width for comfort and speed. The V-shape fills your hand fully without feeling bulky, while the narrow nut width reduces string spread, making it easy to quickly change chords and play lead lines. The ebony fingerboard has a smooth, fast feel. 20 frets provide ample space for soloing in the higher registers. Martin's craftsmen pay close attention to neck dimensions, ensuring an ideal feel for most players. High-end Appointments for Visual Flair A stunning silver border adorns the ebony fingerboard, headplate and pickguard, providing a touch of visual flair. The bone nut and satin nickel Waverly tuners are top-of-the-line components that provide superior tuning stability.
