01What number is La Voz Hard?
La Voz grades by name, not number. Hard is the stiffest in the range, above Medium Hard, and roughly comparable to a 3.5–4 in numbered systems.
02Why does a hard reed feel like it will not play?
Hard reeds need more air pressure and embouchure firmness to vibrate. If notes stall or the tone chokes, the strength is above what your setup supports.
03Are these filed or unfiled?
Unfiled. The bark remains behind the tip, which adds resistance and gives a darker, rounder sound than a filed reed at the same strength.
04Will these work on my bass clarinet?
No. These are cut for Bb soprano clarinet. Bass clarinet reeds are substantially larger and are sold separately.
