Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built for fast, technically demanding electric playing, the Volante Quilt HSFR combines an alder body, AAAA quilted maple veneer top, and a three-piece thermally aged maple neck. Its HS pickup layout places the Neptune humbucker at the bridge and the noiseless Triton single-coil at the neck, selected through a three-way blade switch. The push/pull tone control changes the bridge humbucker between series and parallel operation. A Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo and R3 locking nut support extensive vibrato work.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Stage sets that call for aggressive tremolo work and quick rhythm-to-lead pickup changes.
- Players using lower tunings, wide vibrato, or high-register sweep passages.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Left-handed players; this is a right-handed guitar.
