Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Hammond's XK-7 concentrates a single-manual organ rig into a 73-key instrument with 61 musical keys and 12 preset keys. Its VEM engine physically models 91 virtual tonewheels, with controls for characteristics including wow, flutter, leakage, and key click. Six contacts beneath each waterfall key reproduce progressive harmonic engagement as a key is depressed. AO-28/AO-29 preamp modeling, a programmable Digital Leslie section, 38 drawbars, and dedicated Bass Out routing give players detailed sound-shaping and output options for stage or studio work.
