GibsonDealer Select SJ-200 Thermal Red Spruce Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Antique Natural

Some guitars sound broken in only after decades of playing—this one arrives that way from the start. The Gibson Dealer Select SJ-200 Thermal Red Spruce acoustic-electric guitar is a limited-run Super Jumbo built through Gibson Custom’s Dealer Select program, pairing a thermally aged red spruce top with maple back and sides, a long scale length, and a 1.725" nut width for powerful projection and a confident, authoritative feel. Finished in Antique Natural, it features a rosewood moustache bridge, rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl crown inlays, gold hardware, Gotoh Keystone tuners, and an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup system. From the first chord, this SJ-200 delivers mature tone, fast response, and boutique-level craftsmanship designed to stand apart from standard production models. Thermally Aged Red Spruce Delivers an Open, Broken-In Voice The thermally aged red spruce top undergoes a controlled heat treatment that removes excess moisture and volatile compounds, recreating the structural changes that normally take decades to develop. This process increases responsiveness, enhances harmonic complexity, and produces a quicker, more open attack. On this SJ-200, the aged red spruce delivers strong fundamentals and rich overtones that respond immediately to both subtle dynamics and powerful strumming. Maple Back and Sides Reinforce Projection and Clarity Maple back and sides give the Super Jumbo body its unmistakable authority, producing clear note separation, a focused low end, and wide projection. This tonewood pairing keeps the guitar articulate in large spaces while preventing low frequencies from becoming congested, making it ideal for ensemble playing, solo performance, and recording environments where clarity matters. LR Baggs Element VTC Preserves the Acoustic Character The LR Baggs Element VTC under-saddle pickup system captures the guitar’s natural resonance with a clean, uncolored signal. Discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow quick adjustments without disrupting the instrument’s classic appearance. Plugged in, the SJ-200 retains its acoustic personality, delivering consistent, reliable tone for live performance, studio sessions, or broadcast use. A Dealer Select SJ-200 Defined by Craftsmanship and Detail This Dealer Select SJ-200 brings together thermally aged red spruce, figured maple, and a suite of premium appointments that elevate it beyond standard models. The rosewood moustache bridge, mother-of-pearl crown inlays, gold hardware, Gotoh Keystone tuners, and Antique Natural finish reinforce its status as a collector-grade instrument, while Custom Shop construction and stage-ready electronics ensure it remains a serious performance tool. Built in small batches with dealer-curated intent, this SJ-200 offers lasting value, visual distinction, and unmistakable Gibson authority in every note.
