Gibson2026 L-00 Standard Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Vintage Sunburst

The Gibson L-00 Standard acoustic-electric guitar brings the focused, direct character of Gibson's small-body L-00 design to a model built for writing, fingerstyle work, blues phrasing and close-mic recording. Developed from the L-00 tradition of the 1930s, this Vintage Sunburst guitar pairs compact proportions with a clear, balanced acoustic voice that responds quickly to changes in touch. A Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides provide the foundation for that sound, while traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing supports a lively, dynamic response. Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA electronics use dual bridge-plate sensors and dedicated preamp circuits to capture the guitar's natural body, dynamics and detail when amplified. A mahogany SlimTaper neck, rosewood fingerboard and period-conscious hardware complete a practical acoustic-electric designed around the L-00's longstanding balance of comfort, articulation and character. Baggs HiFi DNA Electronics for Dynamic, Natural Amplified Tone The L-00 Standard features Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA electronics designed to translate the guitar's natural character with dynamic realism, warmth and tactile immediacy. Two lightweight, flexible sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate respond sensitively to the soundboard without placing an undersaddle pickup between the saddle and bridge, helping preserve the instrument's inherent acoustic voice. Rather than feeding both sensors through a single preamp input, the system processes its High and Low sensors separately through dedicated, custom-voiced all-discrete Class A preamp circuits before blending them into an optimized output. This split-signal design captures greater dynamic range while maintaining clarity, articulation and strong feedback resistance. Discreet volume and tone controls along the soundhole edge provide convenient adjustment while keeping the guitar's appearance clean and its acoustic character front and center. Small-Body Design With Focused Projection The L-00 body gives this guitar a compact feel while retaining the focused projection and clear note attack that make small-body acoustics effective in a range of settings. Its smaller frame sits comfortably in the lap and responds quickly to the player's touch, helping changes in picking dynamics and strumming intensity come through with definition. That direct response is especially useful for fingerstyle parts, blues phrasing and accompaniment where the guitar needs to remain articulate around a vocal or other instruments. The result is a compact Gibson acoustic with a balanced voice, practical playing comfort and enough presence for writing, recording and performance. Sitka and Mahogany Shape a Balanced Voice A Sitka spruce top gives the L-00 Standard clarity and dynamic range, while mahogany back and sides add warmth, focus and a grounded midrange. Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing supports the top's movement, helping the guitar remain lively through fingerstyle patterns, chord-melody parts and more assertive strumming. The spruce-and-mahogany combination gives the small body a balanced foundation that can support both nuanced playing and confident accompaniment without losing the direct, dry character associated with the L-00. It is a focused acoustic voice designed to retain detail across a range of playing approaches. SlimTaper Neck Supports Familiar Gibson Playability The mahogany neck features Gibson's SlimTaper profile, providing a familiar feel across the 24.75" scale length. A rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, 19 standard frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays keeps the playing surface traditional and uncluttered, while the neck's proportions support comfortable movement between chord shapes, blues runs and more detailed acoustic phrasing. The shorter Gibson scale complements the instrument's compact body, creating a cohesive playing experience that feels approachable without departing from the L-00's vintage-inspired identity. Vintage Sunburst Details Complete the Standard A rectangular closed-slot bridge, TUSQ saddle and TUSQ bridge pins complete the string-contact points. Mini Grover Rotomatic tuners with nickel plating, an L-00 pickguard, black-and-white truss rod cover, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and Vintage Sunburst finish reinforce the model's classic small-body presentation, while the included Gibson hardshell case provides protection for storage and transport. Combining a compact body, Sitka spruce and mahogany construction, SlimTaper playability and Baggs HiFi DNA electronics, the Gibson L-00 Standard acoustic-electric guitar offers a focused, responsive instrument for unplugged and amplified performance.
