Yes. It cuts overtones and sustain, giving a drier, more focused tone with a harder rim shot. That change is the point of the upgrade.
02Can I put this on the bottom of my snare?
It is made for the batter side. The resonant side has different clearance needs around the snare wires and strainer.
03Does this fit a 10-lug snare?
No. The eight holes are spaced for an 8-lug drum and will not align with 10 lugs.
04Do I get tension rods with it?
No. The hoop ships on its own. Your existing rods and washers will work if they are in good shape.
