Forestone’s Traditional M is a medium soprano saxophone reed made from polypropylene resin blended with cellulose wood fiber, more than half of which is bamboo. Injection molding produces a smooth vamp designed for consistency from one reed to the next, with a 0.1 mm tapered tip and balanced profile. Its resistance can be adjusted by changing its position on the mouthpiece table. The material resists water-logging, saliva breakdown, and warping from humidity or altitude changes, and it can also be worked with reed tools or clipped.
