  • Restoring the vintage-correct look on a P Bass
  • Players who palm-mute against the cover

When to look elsewhere

  • Players who mute or pluck near the bridge
  • Anyone who adjusts string height or intonation often
  • Basses with a non-standard or aftermarket bridge

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

Chrome finish

Bright, reflective, and matches standard P Bass hardware. It will show fingerprints and pick scratches over time.

Detail 02

P Bass fitment

Drilled for the standard Precision Bass mounting positions. Aftermarket high-mass bridges often will not clear it.

Detail 03

Covers the bridge

Blocks the plucking area behind the pickup, which pushes your right hand up toward the neck for a rounder, warmer attack.

Detail 04

Metal construction

Rigid enough to lean a palm on, and it can transmit a faint ring if it contacts the strings or bridge plate.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Check that your bass has the mounting screw holes — many modern P Basses do not
  2. 02You lose bridge access; set intonation and action before installing
  3. 03Foam mutes are not included; the cover alone does not mute strings

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Will this fit my Precision Bass?

It is made for the standard P Bass bridge footprint and mounting holes. Basses with high-mass or aftermarket bridges, or bodies never drilled for a cover, will not accept it.

02Does the cover mute the strings?

No. It covers the area but does not touch the strings. Muting comes from foam under the strings or from your palm.

03Can I still adjust my bridge with it on?

No. The cover has to come off to reach the saddles, so dial in action and intonation before mounting it.

04Does it affect the sound?

Indirectly. It moves your plucking hand away from the bridge, which softens the attack and rounds the tone compared with playing right at the saddles.
