Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around a basswood body, arched quilt maple top, and direct-mount EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbuckers, the Wolfgang Special QM is geared toward high-output riffs and lead work. Its baked maple fingerboard sits on a graphite-reinforced, quartersawn maple neck with a satin urethane finish. The Floyd Rose locking tremolo handles pronounced pitch changes, while the D-Tuna provides a quick route to drop-D. A three-way selector and coil-tapped humbuckers broaden the available pickup voices.

- High-output rock and metal parts that use both forceful riffs and lead lines.
- Players who use dramatic tremolo pitch changes and need quick drop-D access.
- Switching among bridge, combined, neck, and coil-tapped pickup sounds during a set.
