Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around two neodymium humbuckers, the StingRay Special HH gives a four-string player five pickup selections before the active EQ comes into play. Volume, bass, mid and treble controls let you shape the signal from the instrument for changing rooms, mixes or recording setups. Its ash body, roasted maple C neck and 34-inch scale retain a familiar full-scale layout, while the 22 stainless-steel frets and sculpted five-bolt neck joint round out a purpose-built professional bass.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Moving between bridge-focused, blended and other pickup voices without changing basses.
- Adjusting bass, midrange and treble directly from the instrument during live or recording work.
