Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
StingRay Special H is a right-handed four-string electric bass with one proprietary bridge humbucker, a 34-inch scale, and 22 frets. Its redesigned neodymium pickup works with an 18V three-band active preamp, putting Volume, Treble, Bass, and Mid adjustment on the instrument. The contoured double-cutaway body and sculpted five-bolt neck joint are intended for longer seated or standing sessions and access through the upper frets. Lightweight custom tuning machines reduce mass as part of the updated build.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Stage or studio work requiring onboard adjustment of lows, mids, and highs.
- Long seated or standing sessions where the contoured body is part of the playing setup.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Five-string parts or players who require an extra low string; this is a four-string bass.
