EpiphoneSG Special P-90 Electric Guitar - Cherry

The Epiphone SG Special P-90 electric guitar captures the energy and edge of early ’60s solidbody design with a direct, player-focused feel. Part of Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson collection, this double-cutaway model pairs a lightweight mahogany body with a fast-playing 60s SlimTaper neck that supports easy upper-fret access and long-session comfort. At its core, two Epiphone P-90 PRO Soapbar pickups deliver the sharp midrange bite, touch-sensitive response, and raw clarity that helped define the SG Special’s reputation. A compensated wraparound bridge completes the design, providing solid intonation and ringing sustain. P-90 PRO Soapbar Pickups Define the SG Special Voice A matched pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO Soapbar pickups shapes the SG Special’s unmistakable sound. These single-coil pickups emphasize strong midrange presence, crisp highs, and fast attack, responding clearly to changes in picking dynamics and volume adjustments. With individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, players can move smoothly from chiming cleans to gritty overdrive while maintaining note definition and articulation. Lightning Bar Wraparound Bridge Supports Sustain and Intonation The Lightning Bar compensated wraparound bridge anchors the strings directly to the mahogany body, helping transfer vibration efficiently for strong sustain and clear intonation. This straightforward design keeps tuning stable during bends and aggressive strumming and also makes string changes quick and uncomplicated. Direct Controls Encourage Expressive Playing The control layout stays true to the SG Special’s no-frills approach, featuring individual volume and tone knobs for each pickup along with a three-way toggle switch. Black top hat knobs with silver reflectors are easy to grab mid-song, encouraging quick adjustments without interrupting your playing flow. The result is a setup that rewards touch and intent rather than complex switching. Mahogany Construction Balances Comfort and Stability A solid mahogany body provides natural resonance and a lightweight feel, while the mahogany neck with a 60s SlimTaper profile supports fast movement along the fretboard. The bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets offers a smooth playing surface. A Graph Tech nut paired with Epiphone Deluxe tuners with ivory buttons helps maintain tuning stability through regular practice and performance. A Classic SG Platform with Focused Simplicity The Epiphone SG Special P-90 is well suited for players who value immediacy, clarity, and classic design. Its combination of P-90 tone, fast neck feel, and dependable hardware makes it a natural fit for rock, blues, punk, and related styles. As part of the Inspired by Gibson collection, it connects to a legendary design while emphasizing accessibility, playability, and real-world performance. Finally, a premium gig bag is included so you can move easily from practice to rehearsal or the stage.
