Lowered tunings — drop C and below on a standard 25.5" scale. In standard E they feel very tight and hard to bend.
02Will these damage my guitar?
Not if it is set up for them. The added tension needs a truss rod adjustment, and the nut slots may need widening to seat the thicker strings.
03Do I need a wider nut slot?
Often yes for the lowest string. If it sits high or pinches, a tech can file the slot in minutes. Forcing it can crack the nut.
04Can I use these on a floating tremolo?
Yes, but the spring tension must be rebalanced. Heavier strings pull the bridge up, so expect to add a spring or tighten the claw.
