01What is the difference between 3BFL and 3FL?
Cup depth. The 3BFL is medium-deep; the 3FL is deep. Same 16.75mm diameter, 5mm rim, 4.60mm throat and standard USA shank on both.
02Will this fit my trumpet?
No. This is cut for a flugelhorn receiver. Trumpet shanks are a different taper.
03Is gold plating just cosmetic?
Mostly feel. Gold sits warmer on the lip and avoids silver or nickel skin reactions. The cup dimensions drive the sound, not the plating.
04How does 3BFL compare to 4BFL?
The 4BFL is slightly smaller at 16.50mm with a 5.13mm rim. The 3BFL gives a wider cup and narrower rim, so more volume of sound and less cushion.
