01Will this fit my flugelhorn?
Only if your horn takes a standard USA shank. Many flugelhorns, particularly European-built ones, use a medium European shank instead. Check the receiver before ordering.
02What is the difference between the SFL and the deeper FL sizes?
Cup depth. This one is medium; the 2FL through 5FL sizes run deep. Deeper gives a darker, more covered sound with more effort in the upper register.
03Is gold plating better than silver?
Not tonally. It matters if silver or nickel irritates your lip. Gold also feels a little slicker on the rim, which some players prefer and others don't.
04Can I use this on a trumpet?
No. Flugelhorn shanks and trumpet shanks are different sizes, and the cup design is built for flugel response.
