Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The Ocean Blue Burst TRUE Carbon Hybrid is a 14 x 5.5-inch snare that combines maple resonance with the focused response of a carbon-fiber outer layer. It is voiced for clear stick definition, quick attack, and a fuller character at lower tunings, while retaining sensitivity for softer playing. That balance makes it a practical working snare for sessions and stage sets where accents, ghost notes, and rimshots need to stay distinct. Black nickel hardware completes the blue-burst presentation.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Recording sessions that benefit from pronounced stick definition and clear snare articulation.
- Stage work where dynamic playing, rimshots, and fast tuning changes are part of the set.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking a snare size other than the 14 x 5.5-inch configuration.
