01Does this need extra muffling inside the drum?
Usually not. The felt ring built into the head handles most of the ring. Add a small pillow only if you want a very dead, tight thud.
02Is this the front head or the beater head?
The beater side. It goes on the head you kick. Your front head with the mic port is separate.
03Will it fit a 20 or 24 inch kick?
No. Drum heads are size specific. A 22 in. head only fits a 22 in. bass drum.
04How durable is it for hard hitters?
Two plies is the standard choice for heavy playing. It resists beater wear far better than a single-ply head.
