True bypass
When the effect is disengaged, the pedal is designed to leave the instrument signal uncolored.

Independent shopping perspective
Foxy Tone Box is an analog octave-fuzz pedal built around NOS 2N3565 Fairchild germanium transistors, germanium diodes and film capacitors. Volume, sustain and fuzz controls cover its available fuzz settings, while the octave switch brings in the octave-up effect for lead lines and more layered textures. The fuzz control moves between Mellow square-wave distortion and the more cutting Brite setting. True bypass keeps the pedal out of the signal path when it is switched off.
