01Is 2.5 too soft for baritone sax?
It sits on the softer side of mid. If you play a fairly closed mouthpiece and want easy low notes and quick attack, it works. Open mouthpieces often pair better with softer strengths still.
02How long does a box of 5 last?
It depends on playing hours and rotation. Rotating all five and letting each dry between sessions gets far more life out of a box than playing one until it dies.
03Can I use these on a tenor sax?
No. Baritone reeds are cut to a larger size and will not seat correctly on a tenor mouthpiece.
04Should I go up to a 3?
Move up if the 2.5 feels loose, the sound thins out at volume, or high notes close off. Stay at 2.5 if you are tiring quickly or fighting the low register.
