01Is 1.5 too soft for a beginner?
No — 1.5 is one of the softest strengths and is a common starting point. It takes less air and less embouchure control to produce a note. Most players move up as their face strengthens.
02What's the difference between Traditional and JAVA?
Traditional is the classical-leaning cut: thin tip, thicker heart, even and focused. JAVA is Vandoren's jazz-oriented line. This box is the Traditional cut.
03How long does a box of 10 last?
Depends entirely on how much you play. A student practicing daily and rotating reeds typically gets several months from a box. Reeds die from wear and chipping, not age in the box.
04Will these fit my tenor sax?
No. These are cut for alto saxophone. Tenor reeds are larger and will not seat correctly on an alto mouthpiece, or vice versa.
