01What reed strength works with the B45 Lyre?
The 1.27 mm tip is moderately open, so most players drop about half a strength from what they use on a stock student mouthpiece. Try two strengths and pick by response.
02Does it come with a ligature?
No. The ligature and cap are sold separately. Any standard Bb clarinet ligature sized for hard rubber mouthpieces is the place to start.
03Will it fit my clarinet?
It fits standard Bb clarinets. The barrel cork does the sealing, so if the cork is old or dry, have it greased or replaced.
04Is this a jazz mouthpiece?
It's a hard rubber piece with a medium-long facing, so it leans toward blend and control. It handles jazz, but it won't give you a bright, edgy sound.
